A vintage racer I have a slim chance of owning? I love these Sports 2000 cars, they're so wonderfully shaped. Just look at it!

How much? I know that the Sports 2000 cars are starting to be accepted in some vintage club racing series, but you can usually get a Formula 500/600 car or Formula Vee car for relatively cheap and those series are very active.

Pretty sure I saw a good number of these at Road America last year (EDIT: THese may just be S2000 cars);

There were a lot more, but not all the pictures turned out well.

Prices for S2's have been all over the map recently. Newer chassis tend to still bring some high dollars, but I've seen the 20 year old cars getting reasonably cheap. With anything racecar related it's all driven by condition. There is a huge grouping of these in the vintage groups now. The fields are pretty impressive.

Well, I did some research and some seemed to be going for around 30k. BUT, most of those were already sold, maybe a couple of years ago, and who knows how much they could be now with the high market and whatnot.
